Why Join?

HBT bullying is almost endemic in Britain’s schools and affects all pupils. Almost nine in ten secondary and half of primary school teachers say pupils, regardless of sexual orientation, have experienced homophobic bullying, name calling or harassment.

Improve school performance. Taking a stance against HBT bullying can improve pupils’ attainment and raise aspirations.

Help your schools stand out in Ofsted reports. Inspectors are directed to ask pupils, teachers and governors about how homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying and language is dealt with in their school.

Meet your legal duties. The Equality Act 2010 places a legal duty on all schools to take steps to eradicate discrimination, advance equality and foster good relations. They have to take a proactive role in tackling HBT bullying and protect those who might be experiencing it.

Annual membership costs £1,500 for Academy Trusts with 8 or more schools and £1000 for Academy Trusts with fewer than 8 schools.
